About Us

Yurala Welding was established in 2017 by Koy Smith and Charles Smith. 

The business is 100% indigenous owned and managed locally at Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Koy and Charles and their family have strong traditional owner connection to the Banjima Language Group originating from the inland Pilbara area situated in the Hamersley Ranges.  Koy and Charles also have close traditional owner connection to the Guruma Language Group.

Koy and Charles are Boilermakers with immense passion and commitment to their field of work.  Together they represent a combination of over fifty years of robust skills and experience acquired from the many years they contributed to the metal fabrication industries in the metropolitan areas and the Pilbara region, having worked in small private and commercial sectors to leading global resource companies. 

Their capability is derived from extensive field and management work in structural steel, structural beams, pipeline welding, advanced rigging, crane operations, Industrial equipment, marine and shipping maintenance repairs, mild and stainless steel, specialised aluminium and sheet metalwork.
